Henan to open world's longest horseshoe
After eight months' construction, the glass platform has undergone extensive tests. Without a stay cable structure, the bridge is made up of 50 pieces of laminated toughened glass and 3,000 tonnes of steel.
This glass bridge extends 50 meters (about 98 feet) out over the rim of the canyon, nine meters longer than the Grand Canyon Skywalk in Arizona, according to Science and Technology Daily.
From Saturday, visitors to the Fuxi Grand Canyon in central China's Henan Province will be able to see straight down to the canyon floor 350 meters below as they walk on the world's longest horseshoe-shaped glass bridge.
The Fuxi Grand Canyon, 50 kilometers from Zhengzhou, capital of Henan, is a scenic area featuring waterfalls, springs, mountains and caves.
